The Strangefruit series references the concept of beauty excess and hybridity as it relates to a public persona of marginalized bodies. This series presents feminine bodies, which are reoccurring muses that coexist in animal and human form, both grotesque and sexualized.
The muses allude to contemporary, mythological, historical archetypes that have a connection and relationship to my own body. The figures are defined as specimens, each featuring different parts of the body associated with a criteria for beauty however now malformed, displaced and abstracted, which periodically connect to identifiable forms.
